Vietnam's climate is tropical and subtropical monsoon. The humidity can reach 84%. Because of the differences in latitude and varied terrain, the climate varies considerably by region. In general, there are two seasons: the dry season (November-April) is the peak tourist season and the rainy season (May-October).

  • In the north it is warm from April to September with the rainy season from May to October. There may be showers from January to March, with cool nights and daytime temperatures that can drop to 8°C to 10°C.
  • In the center, the rains start from the month of May and last until December.
  • In the south, the climate is tropical with temperatures ranging between 20°C and 35°C. It gets hot from March to May and the rainy season lasts from May to November
    .

It is cool all year round in the mountain towns such as Da Lat (South) and Sapa (North).
